Forever Legacy Tree
The Legacy Tree is a second progression system next to class talents. It spends Legacy Points (LP) across three categories; the level 38 show-floor character had 4 LP available. Values are the rank-1 numbers shown on screen.
Spending Legacy Points
-
16 LP Spendable at launch -
~65 LP Earnable from challenges -
Reward track Beyond the cap
A character can spend 16 Legacy Points at launch. The full set of challenges is worth roughly 65, so you will always earn more than you can commit โ that gap is the design, not a shortfall. Every character ends up built from a small handful of picks rather than the whole board.
The strongest perks sit deep in the three categories, which means 16 points buys depth in one of them or a thin spread across all three, but not both. It is also why two characters drawing on the same account-wide pool can end up playing very differently.
Points earned past the cap are not wasted: they feed a Legacy reward track that pays out in cosmetics and prestige, explicitly kept away from anything that decides power. Blizzard gave two reasons for capping the spend at all โ no one should feel obliged to clear every challenge on the list, and a player who starts late should not be facing a wall of catch-up before they can take part.
